Kmail multiple account

Hello I setup kmail with one account that works well. So If I add a second account, first account can’t send all sort of mail. My version is

kmail2 5.19.1 (21.12.1)

Operating System: Slackware 15.0
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3
Kernel Version: 5.15.209 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 12 × 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-12600
Memory: 31.2 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada Generation/PCIe/SSE2

Maybe the setup got confused and the system is trying to send emails of the first account via the outbound server of the second account (which then rejects it).

Usually when you create an account it will also create an associated identity.
Such an identity can specify which outgoing server to use for sending (usually needs to match the email address use for that identity).

Check if your two identities are pointing to the respective outgoing server and, when composing an email, check which identity you are composing for.

I check as you suggest to me. My config is

Inentity 1 → email1@xxxx.it with relative imap-smtp

Identity2 → email2@yyyyy.it with relative imap-smtp

If there are together one of this identity non send mail, but if I delete one of this, the rest of account work fine. I check all options but config it’s correct.

Do you get any error or are the mails just staying in the outbox folder?

If Google translated this correctly then the remote server has rejected the email because the recipient does not exist

It’s strange because for each account All parameters are correct, and if I remove the working account, then the second one that gives problems works as I expected.. I test thunderbird than works, so because I like kde I want use kmail

It really is strange, isn’t it?
Admittedly, you’re using an old version of KMail, but I’ve been testing KMail regularly over the last few years and have never come across your problem (with more than two accounts).

Can you run KMail in a terminal and send us the messages, if there are any?
And please translate them into English first.

Now I try this: remove all account, turn off kde wallet, setup new account whitout gpg than it work, so I think the problem is kdewallet, dosen’t it?

Maybe ! Try to reactivate kwallet now.

if it only works w/ kwallet off, the wallet file is probably half broken.

for me:
-quit kmail
-mv ~/.local/share/kwalletd ~/.local/share/kwalletd.bak
-System Settings → KDE Wallet → enable it, make a new wallet
-start kmail, add account 1, send a test, then account 2
-Identities → each one uses its own smtp

paste what kmail prints in a terminal if send dies again after the new wallet.

I do that (new kwallet by blowfish key and new two manually) but I’ve the same problem.

When I lunch kmal by terminal

Cannot initialize model with data QJsonObject(). missing: QJsonValue(string, “urls”)

than when I try to send mail with second acocunt

list count 1

that QJson urls line is usually noise for me, not the send fail.

second account send dying w/ list count 1 usually means compose only sees one smtp transport.

-Settings → Configure KMail → Accounts → Sending → confirm both smtp entries are there and enabled

-Identities → account 2 → Outgoing account points at that second smtp (not the first)

-Sent-mail folder on that identity points at a real folder under account 2

then:

-akonadictl restart

-quit kmail, open it, compose as identity 2, send a test

if list count still 1 paste whats listed under Sending accounts.

I do some test than I found the problems. For each account is use this settings

  • Identity then advantage tab → turn on account output and select relative imap;
  • account imap → advantage tab → indenity and select the relative identity for this imap.

Now all test in/out works very well (kwallet tourn on) included the refresh when del a e-mail. To speedup I remove antivirus and bogofilter check, so I make filter manually.

Now I’m going to try setup kmail by gmail and microsoftoft 365 account…very hardering  . Thank very much for your support!!
