KMail no longer works after update to KDE neon 24.0.1 (Akonadi)

Kontact (with KMail) was working fine before updating KDE neon to 24.0.1.
First I found that Akonadi isn’t working any more. Second I followed a hint to install MariaDB manually.
akonadictl start → … database server stopped unexpectedly … exit code 1 :frowning:
sudo akonadictl start → org.kde.pim.akonadictl: Starting Akonadi Server…
org.kde.pim.akonadictl: done.
sudo akonadictl status → Akonadi Control: running; Akonadi Server: running :slight_smile:
However starting “kmail” now, it tries again to start the Akonadi server and fails. Starting “kmail” without running the Akonadi server before results in the same error:
database server stopped unexpectedly
Database process exited unexpectedly during initial connection!

Any help is appreciated!

After a long search for Akonadi I found a solution:
rm ~/.local/share/share

After removing this folder I run kmail - it works! Arkonadi was started successfully by KMail and the data-base was rebuild. Recovery took a long time, but finally all emails are back again :slight_smile:
