In KMail HTML messages are displayed.
But if I want to reply the quoted text is set to “plain text” - and most the time this layout can’t be used (messed up) to quote parts of the message.
So my question: How to reply a HTML message properly?
Thanks.
Maybe you are looking for this options:
- “Preferences, Configure KMAIL”
- In left panel “Editor” and in “General” tab, you have two options:
- Reply or resend using same visual format …
- Enhance text version … (I have this checked)
Thanks, found it.
Hmm, the quoted HTML text and the layout are quite ugly. Any chance to get this better?
On my computer, the “same format” option does not affect KMail’s behavior at all. Sometimes when I have to forward HTML e-mails I start a different program (Thunderbird and others) just to be able to send that one e-mail that needs to be formatted. However, reading this comment, I gather that this option does work for you?
I think is converted to raw text and can’t be changed
Yes, it works for me
I think it’s because of “Reply to sender” template.
If you go to Editor / Standard template (sorry, translation from french it may not be exactly that)
you get something like :
Le %ODATE %OTIMELONG, %OTIMELONG %OFROMNAME a écrit :
%QUOTE”
I think QUOTE should keep format and use a custor “reply” character but it won’t.
I tried “%FORCEDHTML” but then I have nothing ![]()
Yes, I played with these templates, too, but never got it to work properly.
