5.1.x did show the keywords in the Kontenbuch (Ledger?). Cannot find a setting in 5.2 to do the same. Is it possible?

There seems to be a little bug. Are you looking at transactions entered using 5.1.x or entered using 5.2? I was not able to see tags in transactions that I entered with older versions of the application. This needs to be investigated.

This is 5.1.x where the setting for “all details” makes the table show the tags/keywords on each entry in the ledger.
I don’t see a similar setting in 5.2.x and wonder if this is still possible, somehow?
Now I see what you mean. The setting you refer to is for showing all transactions in multiple rows and has nothing to do with the tags. Seems that this has been overlooked while doing the refactoring of the ledger code.
Do we need to report this as a bug or is it being fixed for an upcoming distribution?
It has already been reported and fixed and will be part of the next release.

Tags do not appear in the ledger in Version 5.2.1-c3d3f7e.

I am on Windows 10.
If I go to details, the tags are there. However, they are not visible in the ledger view and the transaction form.
What setting could affect this?
The tag will appear for a new entry.
Tags do not appear for historical entries.
With the same settings the issue remains: historical transactions with tags do not show in the ledger or ledger lens. To see the tags I need to pull up the details screen.
All my historical tags are in the database since if I go to reporting they appear.
Do I need to do a bug report for this?

Yes, please also send an anonymized version of your data so that we can analyze the structure of your data which seems to be relevant at this point in time. See the manual for instructions on how to do this and where to send it to.
I think I confirm this on 5.2.0 on Linux. (I’ll have to test 5.2.1 on a different PC.) It seems that if an old transaction had a tag on the transaction itself, one of the tag updates moved the tag to the split for the account. In the ledger, no tags show up. If you click the split editor, only the split for the category shows up, with (correctly no tag). Since it is not a “split” transaction, the split for the account is not shown there. Interestingly, that account DOES show up on the Tags View, but not in the entry for that transaction even in edit mode.
New problem - Show transaction details is not enabled in the tags view, but I don’t know if that is a new or old issue.
Sounds like an old problem since it is working for the payees view. I’ll take a look at it.
I would like to chime in since my bug report was noted as a duplicate. In Windows 10, tags entered prior to 5.2 do not appear in the ledger and in reports, but do show up in the details form.
@lagunacreek probably not only on Windows but also on other OSes. I have an idea what is happening under the hood that causes this behavior but currently not enough bandwidth to chase it.
