Hello,
I’ve update KMyMoney to 5.1.95 and I’ve noticed an unpleasant change: When I enter a new (investment) transaction, KMyMoney changes the values I enter.
Example: “Buy shares” => “Shares: 0.234020”, “Price/share: 421,00”, this amounts to a “Total: 100” (KMyMoney calculates correct here). However, after I hit “enter”, KMyMoney changes the “Price/share” to “420.989”.
Is this intended behaviour or a bug? I’ve never noticed this in the past versions.
“Remainder” is set to “Round” (Investment Wizard).
Kind regards,
Matthias
I doubt that this is a helpful answer, but, (what the hell ) could it be that in the Security Details (Edit Investment) the Fraction and Price Precision are not large enough? Happy Easter!
Thank you for your answer. I doubt it, as the settings are the same as with KMyMoney 5.1.3 (Price Precision: 3, Remainder: Round).
For test purposes I’ve created a new (clean) KMyMoney-File with a new investment (Fraction 1/100000, Price precision: 3, Remainder: Round). “Buy shares” => “Shares: 5.98700”, “Price/share: 58.460” => KMyMoney calculates a “Total: 350.00”, which is correct (imo). The transaction is then correct in the ledger. However, when I double-click on the transaction again, the “Price/share” is set to “58.459” (instead of 58.460). Clicking in the “Price/share” field, it also updates the total to “349.99”.
What am I doing wrong here?
Thank you very much!
Can you share that test file, please?
I’ve sent the file to your @kde.org address. Should I upload it somewhere else?
