KMyMoney version number query

Today I downloaded the latest master (5.2-5096) which has a version number of 5.2.1-c9efa7a.
I also installed the flatpak version which has the (About KMyMoney) number of 5.2.70-63738a7.

I am curious if the large difference between 70 and 1 (69 by my reckoning!) indicates that the latter is much more along the development path than the former.

On a related question, I read somewhere that the AppImages are more likely to have program features (characteristics) that are “baked in” and not as changeable by the user, say, through css file editing. Is that true? If I want to change font color or size (other than what is available in the KMM menus) should I avoid the AppImages? thanks, as usual, A
