This sounds really stupid, but I cannot draw a black line on a transparent (or white) background.
I want to draw a black line on transparent background. And it does not work. The line happens to be transparent gray, and when I draw it two, three, four times between the same pixels, each time the line becomes darker. The same thing happens on white background: it’s transparent gray rather than black.
When I make one-pixel lines (the dots above the lines), they look black. In the same way, I can cut a rectangle, the background also looks black.
What I want to achieve in the end is to create a small icon. (Drawing a large icon and scaling down does not work for me, small details get lost.)
Some while ago (Trusty? Bionic? Focal?) Kolourpaint used to do what I want, but installing a ~40G virtual machine to edit a 24x24 icon definitely sounds like an overkill. Probably it is possible to have an old version under Jammy, but I do not know how.
But Ideally the solution would be to remove translucency.
