Kolourpaint stopped working ubuntu 24.04.2

Ubuntu 24.04.2

Preformed normal updates today on my laptop. now kolourpaint wont start. from cmdline I get this message.
$ kolourpaint
libEGL fatal: DRI driver not from this Mesa build (‘23.2.1-1ubuntu3.1~22.04.3’ vs ‘23.2.1-1ubuntu3.1~22.04.2’)

I reloaded a fresh install of ubuntu and it automatically did all updates and I get exactly the same error.

Hi! This looks like a recurrence of an issue that came up a couple of months ago:

That didn’t help at all. I just confirmed the same issue on a second computer. The first was an HP laptop. The second is a Dell laptop. The exact same setup and same error.
I’m stuck right now trying to find a new application to do my work. I relied on Kolourpaint to do my editing.

$ kolourpaint
libEGL fatal: DRI driver not from this Mesa build (‘23.2.1-1ubuntu3.1~22.04.3’ vs ‘23.2.1-1ubuntu3.1~22.04.2’)

What step did you try that didn’t help? If it was installing the Flatpak version, that’s pretty strange that it would still give the same error - can you share what shows up on the terminal when you run flatpak run org.kde.kolourpaint?

I’m having similar issues with other KDE based apps after an update from 3 days ago. The mouse cursor spins for several seconds after clicking on the game button and nothing happens. I’ve not tried recommended solutions hoping that the next update will take care of this.
