Konqueror/Dolphin destroys files when copying

Hello

We’re using Rocky Linux 8.10 with KDE 5 and Konqueror 22.04.1 and facing a issue when copying CAD data from cifs mounted filesystems to a other directory inside this mount.
Filesize, timestamp , owner e.g. does not change after copying but md5sum.
This problem leads to corrupted files which are unreadable for the used CAD software. The only difference i can see in Konqueror is the file type which changes from ‘unknown’ to ‘STL 3D model (binary)’
Also this problem only occurs on cifs mounted filesystems, copying files over nfs shares does not corrupt them.

I would be happy if someone had a idea how to avoid this problem or how to find a answer why it happens.

Hi Marcel

I would try compressing them to your favorite format, maybe right after saving them from the cad program.

I sometimes have the same problem just copying to a usb, so I am always ready to tar.gz anything.
