Hi,
I’ve been trying out KDE Linux on my old laptop, and since I occasionally go out, I was hoping to use Kontact with it. So I went ahead and installed it through Flatpak, but realized right away that the flatpak is out of date. I tried to find the nightly flatpak, but couldn’t really identify where to get it, as documentation seems to be both all over the place, and it seems like a nightly version doesn’t really exist. I did try to continue with the out of date flatpak, despite it being out of date, but my email folders (even locally) didn’t exist, and adding my email account doesn’t even do anything even though it literally showed in a notification that I got an email, for what its worth. KDE Linux doesn’t allow you to run any Akonadictl commands, so no luck there.
If I go to Download - Kontact Suite and then use the second hyperlink under flatpak, it leads to KDE PIM/Flatpak - KDE Community Wiki which the nightly-related commands point to a location that doesn’t appear to exist, providing the following error:
“error: Can’t load uri https://distribute.kde.org/kdeapps.flatpakrepo: While fetching https://distribute.kde.or
g/kdeapps.flatpakrepo: [6] Could not resolve hostname”
Somewhat perfect timing, given the new goal of fixing/updating documentation, but genuinely, I am perplexed. Any ideas? I do have Kontact up-to-date and working (somewhat) fine in Fedora KDE on my desktop, outside of occasionally needing to restart Akonadi for one reason or another.
Outside of this, I’ve actually been having a pretty good time with KDE Linux.
