I’m running (EOS) and I updated to Plasma 6 yesterday and for some reason I’m not able to connect to my Windows VM that I have been able to connect to for over 200 times (according to the visits indicator in KRDC).
I’m prompted by KRDC to insert my password (despite the fact it was saved before) and after I do that I just get:
Login Failure
Unable to login with the provided credentials. Please double check the user and password
The password is correct, I verified it on my Mac where I was able to log in.
Why can’t I suddenly login to my Windows VM? What has changed and what could be the problem?
Any help would be appreciated because I need this for work.
KRDC seems to have added some security features. Maybe this is related.
Have you tried downgrading to the last pre-plasma 6 version?
I don’t know about EOS, but on neon this was easy to do via aptitude. (I need KRDC for work, too and had to downgrade because of other issues).
I’m on Arch and confirm that KRDC connects correctly up to the version 24.01.75-1. Starting from 24.01.80-1 it says that can’t connect to the remote desktop. Downgrading the package to 24.01.75-1 solves (momentarily) the problem:
Also, make sure keyboard layout is correct in Windows, Windows is known to change keyboard layout due to a known bug in Windows 10 and also 11, which means entering invalid password.
