KRITA 6 - Add Text Tool Has Changed - CONFUSED

Prior to the Krita 6 update, adding text was simple. Click the “T” for the text tool, drag a box and placeholder text would appear along with a text box to change fonts, size, etc…

Now with Krita 6, that seems to have changed.

Any idea on how to use the new text tool? I’ve searched the web with no luck.

OK. So I checked settings - dockers. I had to check the text properties box.

Still, nowhere near as intuitive or as easy to us as before when an edit box would pop up.

but now your text is editable in a wysiwyg text box, yes?

i think this change lets you better see what you are working on and how it will turn out.

I’m confused how you got confused since this is same (and correct) way of making this tool in most other productivity software.

@skyfishgoo, perhaps. I’ve been using the 5 series of Krita for so long, I just need to get used to this.

@LinuxGuy-cyber, I’ve used Krita for years and have gotten used to the way the 5 series handles text. As I said above, I’ll just need to get used to this.
