KRunner Desktop Sessions search on partial commands

Hi

I just upgraded KDE and it seems KRunner Desktop Session has change. Before I could just type “shut” for example and I would pick “shut down” since that was the most common used.

Now it seems that the Desktop Session plugin only reacts to the full command, I have to type “shut down” for it to show up. Anyway of changing Desktop Session plugin so that it responds to partial text like the other plugins?

Hi! It does look like there are a couple of confirmed bugs open for KRunner that are relevant here - one around how it’s prioritizing results based on user preferences: 489866 – Krunner doesn't order results based on my preferred order

And one specifically around responding to Desktop Session keywords: 474981 – Searching for "shutdown", "restart" or "sleep" brings up the "Desktop Session" KCM instead of performing the actions themselves

While a fix hasn’t been identified quite yet, you can add yourself to the CC list in Bugzilla to get email notifications whenever new comments are added or the status is changed

That CC list checkbox is located here - making sure that’s checked, then choosing “Save Changes” will add you:

Thank you for the information, good to know they are aware.
