Krunner widget order

krunner is absolutely fantastic and I use it as my primary app launcher. Ever since it was recently made easily doable krunner has been mapped to the meta key and this is how I start it.

The one thing that bothers me is that the order the plugins are displayed in doesn’t match the order in System Settings > Search > Plasma Search. As a result, applications tend to be displayed either last or almost last, even when the search term matches the application name exactly.

To demonstrate:

Sadly, this significantly hinders the fluid use of KRunner as a launcher, as the majority of the time it is the application that I’m looking to launch.

Other application launchers seem to manually customize the order of results themselves to make sure applications are prioritized, but there’s nothing in KRunner’s settings (not the plasma search settings) to suggest the default behaviour can be changed.

Anything I can do?

Hi - for what it’s worth, there is an open bug report on this topic in the KDE Bugtracking System: 489866 – Krunner doesn't order results based on my preferred order

If you’re not already added, placing yourself on the CC list in Bugzilla would ensure that you get an email notification whenever new comments are added, or when that bug’s status changes.

Hope that helps,

it has bugs, but what i’ve done as a work around in the meantime is to reverse sort the order of my m favorites (put applications at the bottom, in your case) and they tend show up at the top of the results.

Ah, I really ought to have checked bugzilla first! Thanks to both of you
