Krusader is, most of the time, unresponsive on Plasma 6

Kursader 2.8.1 and Krusader 2.9.0 (unstable) version on Plasma 6, EndeavourOS, Intel GPU, both have been (most of the time) very slow to start or changing directory. But sometimes, I don’t have problem at all.

I run in debug mode krusader -d but don’t find anything abnormal (no error message).

Problem description:

  • Delete the configuration of krusader

  • Start krusader

  • It may take about 10 or more seconds to start or changing the location.
It’s hard for me to explain, so I describe by examples:
(arrow direction means the location is change from -> to)

    • //usr/ [no problem]
    • //dev [slow]
    • //run [slow]
    • //home [slow]

But, when ever I enter one of those directories, browsing inside those directories is normal.

Sometimes, it’s slow enough that the krusader window turn gray

I run a live Plasma 5 distro, and run krusader, and don’t have any problem.

Dolphin also doesn’t have any problem (and fast).

Here is the log when I run journalctl -r, from when I started krusader, and then the problem occurred.

EDIT: I still have problem, so I uncheck this as “solution”

I’ve update system and have render issue. An icon on the task bar shows message “Software renderer in use”, and KDE became unusable.

I found out that the culprit is the lines in the config file ~/.config/kdeglobals:

[QtQuickRendererSettings]
SceneGraphBackend=software

After delete those lines, I notice that Krusader seems to be more responsive now.

This looks like the same problem that I have with Dolphin in Fedora.

But I do not have those configuration lines.

You could try to disable bluetooth devices (such as mouse and keyboard) and use laptop builtin keyboard/touchpad, or disable and then reconnect the devices if you do not use laptop.

Then could you report about the result in this topic so other people could see if they have the same problem:
