I learned that upgrade will be available by August 15, then it is postponed to August 29. Still, no matter what I do, I can not find a way to upgrade to 24.04 LTS. Should I try to upgrade to 23.04 then to 24.04 LTS or wait until 24.04.1 LTS release? When this release will be available?
24.04 download has been available for some time, the 24.10 is out now or soon will be.
i would recommend reinstalling 24.04 from scratch and wait for backports to bring everything in from 24.10 (including plasma 6).
the upgrade process has always been hit or miss, and i would just reinstall.
As an LTS, there is currently only oine upgrade path --m to 24.04. There is otherwise no skipping releases. Once 22.10 became En df oif Life, the only upgrade available became 24.04.
The upgrade notification has goner out to some, I have seen people on KubuntuForums upgrade in the past day. The notification may not go out tio everyone en masse. You can be patient and see if it comes soon, or manually start the process yourself:
If they do backport this (like happened for 22.04), it won’t happen after 24.10 has reached EOL, in July 2025.
