KWeather widgets are always empty, even after adding locations

I’m sure this is something simple, but I can’t find anything related to this. After installing kweather, I added my location and a couple of others. However, the widgets are coming up blank: no location found on system, please add some in kweather. Here is my ~/.config/kweather/kweatherrc for testing Berlin:

temperatureUnits=Fahrenheit

Do I need to restart my system?

Just to check I installed the flatpak and it works out of the box.

The actual app works just fine, it’s the widget that I can’t get to see any added locations.

EDIT: turns out I needed the kdeplasma-addons Arch package. Problem is now that the widget is way too big for the panel, and gives out the wrong temp (Celsius instead of Fahrenheit).
