Since my disk space issue, I ran Bleachbit in addition to apt-get autoremove and it caused problems with KWrite, so installed it again as a snap. Now KWrite doesn’t respect my Breeze Dark theme. It is white. Any ideas why? Even when I select Breeze Dark in Color Themes for Kwrite, only the text area goes dark. The rest remains Breeze Light.
Edit: I mostly fixed it by selecting Window Color Theme as Breeze Dark. This fix, combined with forcing the Editor also to Breeze Dark, is good enough for me but the title bar remains Light. Not sure why.
Clearly KWrite thinks I am using a Breeze Light system theme even though I am using Breeze Dark.
White version of KWrite do you recommend: the snap, flatpak, or repository?
For some reason, I have thought snaps generally most secure and best. The KWrite snap is officially verified.
EDIT: Fixed the problem by removing the snap and installing the flatpak. The flatpak also is official.
Seems like flatpaks generally are superior. KeePassXC states:
“NOTE: KeePassXC no longer supports this distribution method. Snaps have a lot of bugs across distros and are difficult for us to maintain a satisfactory experience. We recommend switching to the flatpak distribution instead. Install KeePassXC on Linux | Flathub”
