Locking display Configuration

I have a friend that pretty much all he can do is check email and browse the net because of age. Sometimes when the internet service is down he will play in the setting trying to fix it causing all kinds of havoc. Normally I just rollback his system to the last time I updated it for him which is pretty much daily and all is good after landing back on the desktop and updating again. However every once in awhile he manages to change the display settings where either it’s 90 degrees one way or the other from normal, or completely upside down and restoring the system does not address that.

I have removed Display Configuration from the rightclick desktop menu and the Systray but he has still managed to find it under System Settings. I need to be able to lock the Display Settings and or just the System Settings altogether so I don’t have to spend 5 or more minutes trying to get the mouse where I need it to be able to click the correct setting and apply it.

I found the below but I have been through the setting three times now and am not see the below.

To lock your display configuration in a Plasma desktop, <mark>navigate to System Settings > Workspace Behavior > Screen Configuration and then toggle the "Lock Screen Configuration" option to "On."</mark>. This will prevent accidental changes to your screen layout, like resolution or monitor arrangement

rather than react to whatever hack he comes up with next, why not just give him a new user with restricted permissions, or look into using the KDE Kiosk mode
