Looking for devs and testers - KTabletop, boardgame platform for KDE

Hi everyone, after a month of development after planning of this project, KTabletop has some basic feature now, like online gaming and implemented a Chess which is simple but playable.

Since serving other people and get feedback will give me more passion on this project, I would like to invite the community to try it out and give feedback, and if possible, contribute to it.

Current features:

  • Start game server and connect to it, network protocol is built on top of TCP
  • Create room, join a room, chatting in lobby and in room
  • And Chess is playable now!

Project page:

Currently you should build it from source and host server by yourself (with a VPS or something), check instructions in README.md!

Packaging a lightweight container image or containerfile for the dedicated server would make it much easier for community members to spin up local test servers without having to configure dependencies manually. Exposing structured Lua API hooks and sample rule templates in the wiki will also help developers understand how move validation and state synchronization are handled when adding new games beyond Chess.

yeah that will be TODOs. if you are interested in the project how about join our matrix room? #ktabletop:tchncs.de
