Make "Run in console" the default in Dolphin for shell scripts

When I double click a shell script it is executed without showing any feedback.

If I want to see the output of the script, I need to right-click on it and choose “Run in console” .

Is there a way to configure Dolphin to use “Run in console” as the default when double-clicking shell scripts?

Hi - I’m not aware of a way to do that currently. Others might have some creative ideas here, but at the very least there is a bug filed in the KDE Bugzilla around this topic: 409597 – Script execution should be in konsole/terminal, not in background, or else interactive scripts don't work

Thanks for the answer. I suspected as much.

Would probably be quite an improvement already if the dialog that asks if one really wants to execute the binary also had an option to execute it in a terminal.

I like the option of choice when clicking on an exe. Left is “Always ask” and right context menu is “Run In Konsole”.

Either left or right click, it takes two clicks.

I do not care if it is split up as long as I remember that.
