Make the interface more customizeable

The first thing I adjusted on my plasma big screen setup was to hardcode the interface to make more organized and hide all the things that are not relevant for a “normal” user who just wants to watch something or play a game. This process was a bit of a hustle and I see some areas of improvement here.

  • right know its possible to add/remove favorites. Why not go one step further and allow to create/delete categories and give the option for full customization
  • Turn on/off the recent category. Lets say I used some “pc” apps to set things up, like audio drivers, text editor or the terminal. My wife who has no idea about any of this, does not need to see these apps in the recent category, when she just wants to watch youtube.
  • Customize the top right menu bar. I am talking about the one where you see the wifi and audio icon. Lets say I do not use KDE connect or my laptop has no battery anymore and runs purely trough the power supply. It would be amazing just to pick wich icons should be shown, instead of adjusting the ui code, like I did now.
