I recently upgraded to kde6 (on opensuse 15.6, using wayland; plasma 6.2.2, frameworks 6.7, qt 6.8) and I have not been able to get maliit to work. When tapping on an input field nothing happens.
When I installed it zypper wanted to uninstall a bunch of kde6 packages, so it seems that maliit does not work with kde6? On the other hand I have read a couple of posts where people say that they have it working on kde6.
Has anyone got it working and if so what did you do to get it to work?
But were you able to install it? It works for me on nixos by setting the environment variable KWIN_IM_SHOW_ALWAYS = “1”, but nixos works decidedly differently from other linux distros, so I can’t help you much more
Yes, I did install it, but presumably with some dependencies missing. Maliit seems to be installed fine. It shows up in the virtual keyboard kcm. Starting maliit-keyboard from the console does not throw up any errors. And the virtual keyboard is enabled according to the status bar.
Thanks for the suggestion, I tried setting KWIN_IM_SHOW_ALWAYS = “1” but that did not work for me unfortunately.
