Media Control: view library? more than just simple play controls needed

Hi all,

LOVE KDE-Connect, wow but that was so smooth. One question, which I really hope is quite basic…

I’ve got my android tablet connected, and it starts and stops the media player just fine. One thing though: the ENTIRE point of using this is so that I can go into the room where my stereo is, and control which music is played from my PC in another room.

So sure, start/stop/pause. But how do I then select a new album? Both preferred players are supported (Sayonara, Cantata) and both are configured such that their layout on the linux desktop give access to the library. I don’t form playlists so much as I listen to an album and then think… what would I like to play next?

I thought adding the custom command in Sayonara (Ctrl+L to ‘view library’) would work, but it doesn’t because I have to move away from the media screen on my tablet, and naturally that macro makes no sense on its own.

Can I configure the view portal of the media player on my tablet, so that it’s not simply the album art and play controls? Or is there some other way to achieve what I need?

so… am I correct in concluding that despite the amount of blazing publicity about how awesome everything KDE is, that on the support forum where, to date, just 21 views and no replies… that therefore nobody cares or is remotely interested?

That “KDE connect” cannot, was not designed to, do anything other than simply play/pause/stop/forward and no attempt whatsoever to support ooh, the deeply subversive idea of actually wanting to browse that self same music library??

Well okay then. Fine. But obviously this makes it nothing but a slightly pointless piece of bloatware at this stage. I’ve deleted it, will look elsewhere for something that actually had some clear thinking behind it.
