Merkuro Calendar can not create an event

I have been trying different calendar/task apps like KOrganizaer and Thunderbird but i think Merkuro is the best in terms of functionality and looks. But one feature that’s a deal breaker is that i can’t create and event while in week view or day view by using the mouse, more specifically by clicking in a hour (like 16hs), dragging to another hour (like 17hs) and releasing, so a pop-up appears to create a new event in that time period (most calendar suites have it, best example is google calendar). My questions is if this is a missing feature or a bug, and if it’s a bug, how should i proceed to resolve it.

welcome.

the struggle is real.

i sort of had kalendar working on kubuntu 22.04 with backports on, but since upgrading to 24.04 and then 24.10 the whole kalendar/merkuro/akonadi/korganizer/kdepim-addons
ecosystem has been problematic at best.

and what with the huge effort of getting plasma 6 out and working, i’m not sure anyone’s even working on this stuff, and it seems there’s still a lot of qt5 → qt6 work that needs to happen for these kinds of supporting apps.

what distro are you using?

what is the output of

akonadictl fsck 2>&1 | grep -iE 'found|no RID'

I’m currenly using Nobara 40 (Fedora).
Here’s the output:

~$ akonadictl fsck 2>&1 | grep -iE 'found|no RID'

well better than mine with 3 collections

we are both on plasma 6 but you likely have 6.2 while i’m still on 6.1, but i’m not sure that would matter, its the transition to qt6 that seems to be hanging things up.

do you have kdepim-addons installed?

Yes, kdepim-addons is already installed
