How does i install mail client merkuro. Because when i install with pacman merkuro it install calendar address book module but any email client. There is Poczta Merkuro - Aplikacje KDE which describes mail client as addon to merkuro but i don’t know how to install it. Source code readme.md file doesn’t explain this.
I found. It seems doesn’t add desktop file in application folder from which krunner detects installed apps.
So we need to start mail client by using:
merkuro-mail
But merkuro email client is bare bone there isn’t even frontend interface to add mail account. Is there any roadmap? Or something similar because development seem to be as advanced as it was two years ago.
On KDE Neon it does add a .desktop file (/usr/share/applications/org.kde.merkuro.mail.desktop) but it has NoDisplay=true so it doesn’t show up in KRunner’s results.
@carl is this on purpose?
That seems indeed to be the case at the moment.
You can use KMail to add accounts, the two programs share the same infrastructure.
Yes it is on purpose. It’s really backbone, so I didn’t want to make it appears on the startup menu.
Unfortunately, a mail client is a big undertaking and we are only making some slow progress on it. Help is very much welcome!
Thanks for clarification!
I hope this year’s GSoC work can help with making some progress on the Mekuro apps ![]()
