Missing Tiling Setting

The build in tiling is working, I can hold shift when I move the window.
I can also press super+T to set up zones.
But I do not have the Tiling settings in Window Management.

I use KZones and want to turn off or remove build in tiling.
But the setting is gone.

I am on KDE 6.2.4 on arch

X11 or wayland? Meta+T tiling only works under wayland.

when you say you don’t have the tiling settings, do you mean you can’t find the appropriate settings page?

just click anywhere on the desktop and type “screen edges”, the settings page should be among the results.

resetting to the defaults should fix things.

I think in System Settings, under Window Management there should be “Tiling” setting.
From the screenshots I saw online its sometimes under “Desktop Effects”

For me this setting is missing so I cant turn off build in tiling.

the setting for the automatic tiling when you move a window to the edge of the screen is found in “screen edges” … no where else, sorry (maybe you were looking at old screen shots).

uncheck the Tile: feature and it will stop doing that for/to you.

you can’t really turn off the Meta+T feature where if you shift+drag a window it will fall into one of your predefined layout patterns, but i suppose you could unbind the shortcuts so it no longer works

i wouldn’t do that tho… just don’t hold down the shift key when moving a window and no tiling will occur.

I did unbind Meta + T
Impossible to unbind shift.
