Mouse lag with plasma 6.6

Hi, with plasma 6.6, my mouse Logitech m220 has many lags, like shortly glued. Is there a known issue or a fix?

I would suggest a new mouse - when my son had issues with his, I tested with mine and found that his mouse was just not working well.

If another mouse works well, then there could be an issue - try with a clean install and a fresh USER.

You stated elsewhere that you were using Mate, if you installed Plasma on top of that installation it’s possible that you have issues with multiple services running and a generally buggy desktop experience.

There are reports of mouse lagging when certain apps are running in the background. Sorry, do not recall which apps.

Check what apps you have running and close all you can. Does that fix it?

I found these reports. As the lags are few, I’ll wait fix.

I encountered this issue, too. I currently constrain the polling rate to 125Hz with logi G hub in my windows virtual machine, 125Hz polling rate makes it better, no lagging

How to do that with the terminal?

I don’t know how to do that just with the terminal. A windows machine is must, I suppose, even a virtual machine, logi G hub only works on windows or macos. The purpose is to change the polling rate and write it into the onboard chip of logitech mouse. You can check out your mouse polling rate by evhz. When I constrain it to 125hz, the issue fixed

After check with tools online, my mouse is already 125 Hz.

I am facing the same issue. It is most visible when using Chromium in my experience. I am using a generic USB mouse.

You do not have to use the terminal. Instal a tool called Solaar ( GitHub - pwr-Solaar/Solaar: Linux device manager for Logitech devices · GitHub ). It’s most likely available on flatpak or your distributions package manager. Hope i help!

PS: I’f it doesn’t work/fails to change the settings, just press the lock icon next to onboard profiles, then set onboard profiles to disabled, relock the onboard profile which will apply it to the mouse, then unlock the report rate, change it to 1ms or lower if you can and i believe it should be smoother. Have used this app on my superlight 2 and it has worked perfectly fine
