Need to backup (sync) to a network share in a way suitable for a non IT user

Hi. I’ve been trying for many years to find someone who knows how to backup to a NAS share in a way that a non IT person can do it. So complex hacks and command lines are not suitable.
I don’t mind installing any graphical app/s.
I don’t mind mounting the share graphically. I have not found a way to do this permanently.
I have tried lots of backup and sync apps, but none let me navigate to the Network.
Kup Backup can access the Network, but then fails to work.
I’ve tried using Smb4K to mount the share. But that needs to be running all the time, and times out and is not permanent.
People have suggested using CLI and fstab. But that has never succeeded, and never manages to work in a graphical way that I can share with non IT users.
We have “End of 10” coming up. So I’d like to show people that Plasma is easy to use for ex Windows users.

My network shares are on a NAS (WD off the shelf NAS) and are accessible with Dolphin OK.
Distro: Kubuntu. currently 25.04. Lenovo Ideapad.

Thanks. Ian

If no one knows how to do this, then I’ll create the necessary feature/fix request.

This has been reported as a bug here. But if anyone knows of a solution, I’d love to hear about it.
