I used NeoChat a while ago, and if I remember correctly I used to have a room list with ALL my rooms in one list. So the private chats, rooms, everything in one list.
I started using it again recently (version 24.08.03) and I can’t get the same room list as before. There is an option “Show all rooms in Home tab” but that doesn’t do anything. I still have two buttons, a Home button which shows groups, and a Friends button which shows private chats.
Is it not possible to have a single combined room list? Or is this a bug?
Hi - I don’t see a way to combine Rooms and Friends, either. This might make for a good wishlist feature request, if that’s something you’re looking for!
But then what is the “Show all rooms in Home tab” checkbox? It doesn’t do anything for me. I thought that would combine everything.
As-is, that checkbox determines whether rooms that belong to Matrix “Spaces” - the additional icons to the left of the room list - only appear inside those Spaces (unchecked), or also appear in the Home tab (checked).
With the box unchecked, the Home tab is basically “Rooms that don’t belong to a Space”. For example, on my NeoChat here, the “Kate” room won’t appear in the Home tab, because it’s in the KDE Space:
