I’ve recently updated KDE Neon through discover and booted to my monitors not displaying anything. If I reduce to one monitor, sometimes it will display only half the screen and the other half is either all black, or filled with vertical green bars.
my systems specs are as follows:
Ryzen 7 7900x
AMD Radeon RX 6950xt
32gb DDR5
When booting into a known good kernel (6.17.0.35), the display issue persists. The only way to get my PC working is to completely restore to a backup before the latest update to 6.7.4.
When I updated only the kernel to the new 7.0.x.x, the display issue returned. When I updated everything BUT the kernel, the issue returned. For now, I cannot get any system updates without borking the whole OS and having to recover from a backup.
I downloaded the latest KDE Neon install ISO yesterday to do a full re-installation of Neon and was greeted with the display issues upon booting into the install media as well, which confirms to me this is not an issue with my current installation.
I have looked into this a bit already and I think I found that my specific issue might have been resolved in kernel 7.1.8, however I’m unable to even install this kernel to verify.
Is anyone else having this issue?
