Networks icon shows No Available Connections

I recently upgraded to 10Gbit networking. As such I removed the Ethernet cable and am just relying on the SFP+ fiber connection. Since disabling the Ethernet interface the Network icon in the system tray has a red “x” on it, and when I click on it, now shows “No available connections”. However, when I go to the configuration it shows both loopback and “wired connection 3”, which I would expect the “wired connection 3” to be shown as an available connection for the tray icon to pick up.

Is there a way to update the network tray icon to use the “wired connection 3” connection so that I don’t have this red x in my system tray?
