New user, pc crashes all the time

I switched my pc to from a nvidia gpu to a amd gpu and it went from booting up instantly to taking forever to start up and it now crashes multiple times a day. Im new to using linux so im not sure what could be causing it, last night i got a purple screen crash that said ‘fatal machine error’ and my pc hasnt been able to connect to the internet. Im not sure whats going on or how to fix it.

Usually when it crashes i get this screen

you are in emergency mode. After logging in, type 'journalctl -xb' to view logs. 'Systemctl reboot' to reboot or 'exit' to contiue boot up.

Usually trying to exit and or reboot a few times gets past it and has my pc usable. I tried checking the errors in the log but there are alot of them and this is my first time using linux and i do not have a background with computers.

I think this is caused by something to do with the graphics card. I thought id uninstalled the nvidia drivers and installed updated the amd ones. My pc wouldnt use the graphics card without me manually installing the drivers.

hello, for amd drivers, the kernel has those already

perhaps if you tell us details of the hardware in particular, version of gpu and the motherboard, cpu in use could help

Also can you post the error output after a crash. It might tell something.

do you still have these issues if you go back to using your previous GPU?

could be it’s not fully seated or has inadequate power
