After the last update 26.08.0, Dolphin dosn’t show the x16 icons/thumbs when opening the app, new tab or splited view. And it occur for any of the 3 display mode.
The icons are correctly display if the initial startup size is not x16 or after updating the icons size (increase-decrease size).
This behavior don’t occurs on browers dialog of the KDE Plasma environement, only on the Dolphin explorer.
PC rebooted.
Downgrade to 26.04.3 return to the normal behavior (so clearly specific to this version).
If you haven’t gotten the 6.0.8-3 update see if it’s available from your distro yet. If you do have it try rebooting then toggling the icon view and previews. The fix worked here but I did have to toggle a few times before they automatically reset to what I had before the breakage.
I will stay on 26.04.3 in wait of the release fix to preserve my mental heal, because do the workaround to every new tabs is already become very fast very upsetting

Maybe it’s behaving differently on different distros. Sounded like the issue was completely resolved, but more than once here since the 6.0.8-3 I’ve had to toggle view and preview again cause the size reverted again. Seems to be staying now, but haven’t close and relaunched dolphin nor rebooted.
