I switched to Fedora from Mint a few months ago and have never been able to get any splash screens working. Not even the default. There’s just a black screen and the little login sound. Is this a common issue? If so, how do I fix it?
This sounds like more of a Fedora issue than a KDE issue. It might be better posted at Fedora Discussion.
When you post, it would be useful to know:
- Hardware details (particularly the graphics)
- Exactly what you see after powering up and before logging in (e.g. do you see a GRUB screen, do you see messages during boot, etc).
If you’re using KDE Plasma, System Settings → Colors & Themes → Splash Screen
Make sure it isn’t set to “None”
