After today’s Manjaro KDE full update (Dolphin is now 26.08) F3 key, for long time used to open/close Split view (add or close second panel), is doing nothing at all. There’s only an command in menu, but no entry in Shortcuts. Is this a bug or “feature”?
Seems like a bug in your distro, I don’t reproduce in Arch with 26.08.0.
The absence even of the shortcut, indicates there is something wrong with the package.
Maybe, another victim of “optimization” LTO would be my guess. This breaks apps silently.
Is this a bug or “feature”?
Any unexpected behavior is a bug, a shortcut not working anymore is an obvious regression unless clearly stated, with strong motivation.
Nothing touched this in Dolphin 26.08 Dolphin 26.08, and KIO perf improvements - KDE Blogs
@meven Thanks for the answer, sounds bad. F3 is by default now reassigned to Open in Split view instead of Split as usual…
Split is not even visible.
I noticed something odd, if the view is currently splitted, the shortcut isn’t visible in the configure keyboard shortcut. That’s one bug at least.
It it then renamed to “Close Right View” or “Close Left View” then.
I made a change for 26.12, dolphinmainwindow: keep the split view action under its own name (!1431) · Merge requests · System / Dolphin · GitLab
