No Volume Control in Sys Tray

After updating to Plasma 6 on openSUSE, the volume icon in the systray no longer exists. Even editing the entries into the systray, it’s no longer an option. I’m guessing that this is a dependency error somewhere along the line? Any help would be appreciated.

Also, it could be related, but the media keys on my keyboard are also no longer working. I assumed it was just a Wayland issue as I also made that switch, but now I wonder.

Sorry if this is not very helpful…
But which version/repos do you use? Because for the “normal” openSUSE Tumbleweed (20240301) there is no Plasma 6 available yet.

As this does not occur in my KDE neon test installations with Plasma 6 (at least not with my hardware), I would think that this might be openSUSE-specific and that you would possibly get better help in their forums…

You might want to submit a bug report to the OpenSuse folks, This is not happening on my Arch install and ive been running Plasma 6 since around October. This may be some sort of packaging issue on their end.

Okay I can do that. It is pre-release on openSUSE, so that makes sense.

Sounds like plasma-pa is missing/not installed correctly

It was the 'plasma-pa, rpm missing, thanks for posting.

so i installed plasma-pa, but got this “file:///usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.volume/contents/ui/main.qml:21:1: module “org.kde.plasma.private.volume” is not installed”

It might need to be installed outside your current plasma session.

Sounds like that module is missing, perhaps due to a packaging error in the distro.

Is openSUSE shipping Plasma 6 already? If not, and you’re using a testing repository, I thin that’s even more likely, and would recommend you report the issue to them.
