Not sure if it's operator error or a bug?

OS: Nobara Linux 40 (KDE Plasma) x86_64

So I have created a peculiar problem for myself.

I have dual monitors 1440p@144 on display port and an old 1080p@60 on HDMI.

In display configuration I disabled the 1080p monitor and after hitting apply the display configuration panel went into an endless loop saying “A new input has been added. Settings Reloaded” and “A new input has been removed. Settings Reloaded” its cycling every second so I do not have enough time to re-enable the monitor or make any changes really.

I tried a reboot as well as disconnecting and reconnecting the monitor but the dilemma persists.

Is there something I can do to resolve this other than re-installing the OS?

The “fix” I found was to identify the disabled monitor in

kscreen-doctor --outputs

but it would only show up if I had the display config opened and looping in its endless resetting cycle. Then once I identified the disabled monitor I was able to use

kscreen-doctor output.HDMI-A-1.enable

and circumvent the GUI. I guess this means I can’t disable the monitor via software then unless I want to go through this headache everytime.
