Oh where Oh where has my network icon gone

What happened? No connections, no system tray entry, and not sure what packages are missing all of sudden?

Internet works, just missing icon in tray.

After a few reboots, it’s back.

Same trouble but whorst: since July I’ve no network icon in the bottom right system panel. Connected via ethernet cable with the home router and use the net normally so no problem until now. Now I wish to try a SIM router via WiFi but have no mode to set the connecting mode!! I’ve no net controls: no views on I/O traffic, no way to choose the connection modes and in System network setup I’ve no way to change (instead I’ve double menu voices!!! as shown in screenshot) However I’ve no net icons or voices in the system tray selections
