First of all thanks for the awesome work and software KDE has been building over decades.
I’m encountering a small pain point in my workflow with Okular.
I work a lot with PDFs and embedded editable forms, and it gets a bit cumbersome to have to click after each file opening the “show forms” button and wish there was an option in the settings or a flag I could set to true for showing all forms by default.
I don’t know if there are security concerns about that request so there I go posting about it

i share your concern with how cumbersome using forms can be with okular.
probably don’t want forms-on to be the default but there certainly should be a toggle somewhere to make the forms-on a permanent setting or offer a command line option to launch it with --forms-on so we could choose a forms enabled version to launch when we know we will be dealing with forms.
it would also be helpful if certificates could be created right in okular rather than having to use a separate tool so that we can e-sign pdf forms (comes up every year at tax time).
I don’t really see the usefulness to generate self signed certificates. No one knows if it is actually you or not, so it is kind of a useless signature if no one verifies that the certificate belongs to you.
I can just generate a certificate that says my name is skyfishgoo and sign a document with it. But that doesn’t make it you signature.
ppl self sign tax documents or other worksheet type documents all the time, so that the the recipient’s legal exposure is covered.
they don’t really care if it’s you or not, they just need a signed form to base their work product upon to cover their legal obligations.
the person providing the signed document is the only one who cares if it’s “you” or not and since they created the signature, then they know who it is.
