Okular got beef with apostrophes

Ironically, Okular is working correctly :joy:
But this way of working is the issue…

Full Explanation:

  1. GNOME Papers Document Viewer

  2. Okular

The only key that has apostrophes on my 14” laptop has the curly double quotes “ and the curly single quote ‘

When I type inside the Find box of Okular or GNOME Papers, either of them type the rigid double quotes " and the rigid single quote '

However, GNOME Papers actually finds the text. Okular fails as it interprets the apostrophes as different (expected?)

This is not really good if I’m trying to find something in a 500 page e-book, any workarounds possible?

those quotes and " are different characters, there’s also 🙶 and and even

it can be hard to tell the difference in certain fonts but usually serif fonts are more obvious.

On a French ‘AZERTY (variant)’ keyboard, the apostrophe is produced by pressing [ AltGr + g ].

On a QWERTY keyboard, [ Shift + , ] sometimes produces an apostrophe. Otherwise, you’ll need to use the Compose key.

It should also be possible to enter a Unicode character using its hex code [ Ctrl + Shift + U + U-code ].

Alternatively, you can remap the keyboard to produce the apostrophe using a key combination.
