Very often, the OCR functionality wrongly identifies the text in my PDF books, or worse the books are not OCR scanned. In both cases, the highlight functionality of Okular proves insufficient for me. I have attached an image showing one case of the former problem for me. Is there a workaround for this? If not, how can I request for a change in the highlight annotation to switch off text-only highlight (as in edge)?
Indeed, this happens sometimes for some publishers.
You probably have solved this by now
but for others, here is a workaround.
Use a Straight Line
annotation, with opacity 25 %
and width 10
.
Click once to mark the start of the line, and once again at the end.
The partial opacity makes the text below the annotation a little dim,
but still readable.
