I (moderately) contributed to KDE many years ago, at the time of KDE 3, and I am glad to be back here!
I was wondering if there is any roadmap for dropping phonon in okular in favor of Qtmultimedia, and if there is anyone working on that. It seems it is the only application, together with the much less relevant “extragear” kphotoalbum, still holding on phonon.
There are a couple of MR’s up, the previous ones had too many places where it didn’t work. The latest one claims to have fixed the issues, but it is so far missing reviews and people testing it.
It needs testing at least on wayland, x11 and windows with pdf files with audio and video.

Thanks for your quick answer. I have a few different machines where I may try to test, although all very similar plasma-wayland setups. Glad to see there is ongoing work on this.
