Option to align desktop widgets relative to screen instead of fixed pixel-based placement

Currently, when widgets are placed on the desktop, their position is remembered as a fixed pixel coordinate.

With my computer being a 2-in-1 that I frequently plug into an external monitor, this results in widgets being in different places when in landscape, portrait, or the external screen.

An option to align a widget in a relative fasion would be nice, just like the panels: centered, far left, left/right third, top, bottom, etc.

That way widgets would stay visually organized as the screen size and orientation changes.

I absolutely support this proposal! I have icons arranged on the left and widgets on the right - well, on my laptop screen at least. Once I connect it to the screen on my desk, the widgets are in the middle..
