Things I’ve tried

  1. Resetting theme to a default like Breeze Dark
  2. Updating all packages
  3. Creating a new user to see if behavior persists (this actually fixes the issue, but I would really prefer not migrating if this is a issue seen before)

Any idea what might be causing this behavior? Thanks for any and all suggestions.

I was able to resolve the issue, thankfully.

After looking at it a couple of times, you can tell it’s not that the desktop isn’t being rendered, it’s being covered by some grey block.

I’m not sure if this what was causing it, but there was some RSS feed plasmoid I was trying out, it had config info in ~/.config/plasmawindowedrc.

After emptying the file, my task switcher and edit mode work properly.
