Overview is very snappy, I much prefer a smooth animation, perhaps having an enable animation switch in the overview options would be great.
the speed of all animations is controlled in the settings on the first page.
Ok, that fixed my overview problem, but now my other animations are slower, i like my general animations for menus and apps to be kde default, but my overview animation to be smoother and a little slower, thats where my issue is. I want to be able to have that be separate if possible.
it’s kind all or nothing… there may be a hack somewhere you could do that would only affect the overview, but no idea where or how such a thing could be accomplished.
Probably true, anyways, thanks for the early suggestion, I found an animation speed that works for the system, a bit slower but i can live with it. Will post if I find a work around.
I have found work arounds like modifying the kwin effects files however this is extremely risky, may hurt the system or break after updates, so I want to propose the idea of having an advanced option next to the global animation control to allow per piece animation control, (eg: overview animation speed control - more snappy for those using the overview for faster more efficient workflow, slower for those who prefer smoothness, window action animations that can be customized to a user’s liking, widget animation speed control, etc.) Their could also be presets provided for those who don’t want to tweak every last animation but don’t want the global speed control as their only option, (eg: smooth, snappy, and balanced) would be general presets. If you support this proposed feature let me know and encourage others to view this post.
