Packaging icons in a DEB file

If I create a DEB file with .desktop files and install them to /usr/share/applications, they successfully appear after installation. But they appear under the “lost and found” folder in the K menu.

Is there a way to control which menu these files appear under? I have not found how to do it.

You probably need to set Categories key in the desktop entry:
