@luisbocanegra, will the Arch AUR plasma6-applets-panel-colorizer 2.4.2-1 receive an update? That’s the current version I have on EndeavourOS which is still broken.

EDIT: Nevermind. I tried to uninstall and reinstall and got this…

All is well, now. I had to uninstall, remove some plasma6-applets-panel-colorizer folders and reinstall.

Looks like you had installed it manually before so pacman was complaining because the cpp plugin files were already there.

edit: I can activate the customisation and change the color but it is not recognised if I disable customisation

I had a similar experience. Panel Colorizer had not accepted any change.
Restart plasma shell did the trick to me

systemctl --user restart plasma-plasmashell.service

If you are using the latest version of the widget there is a new option for that

Yes, that color labels should be changed to something else because it is no longer just colors.. even the widget itself is no longer just colors

Hi, I’m trying to use the panel colorizer under FreeBSD 14.2 with plasma version 6.3.4
I got the following message when i click on the icon of the widget:

That’s [Bug]: Panel colorizer crash caused by ImageRoundedRectangle.qml we also had the same error in Fedora 42 and updating the system packages fixed it. Try that and if still doesn’t work report it to FreeBSD

Thanks, effectively, an update was required for the widget to work. but I cant say which packages was in fault. Now it work, I had to do the update and log out log in, thanks again. Great widget by the way.

I guess it was the kde or kde-baseapps packages as the Qt ones seem unrelated, maybe something needed to be rebuilt with newer patches or an updated dependency.

What matters is that updating fixes the problem in all distributions that had the same bug Fedora, Kubuntu and now FreeBSD

If by “task bar” you mean panel here’s how you do it, note that it is not actually changing the color of the original panel, instead, it creates a new rectangle on top that is the same size as the panel (or widgets)
