This is very cool, I <3 it! and I would really like to see it up-streamed and integrated into Plasma.
@plasma or vdg team: do you think there’s a chance if @luisbocanegra agrees? Thanks!

(I cannot edit my post, which awaits approval.) Having it upstreamed would also help to get it to the same quality level and consistency with the rest of Plasma. There are some things such as
It’s great to see many people liking it so much they wish it was a built-in feature
. While I am not against the idea I am realistic when I say it is unlikely something like this in the current implementation can be part of plasma, or even kdeplasma-addons, why?
a) it is mostly a hack that adds way too many options that can cause all kinds of bugs and readability problems if not used correctly
b) it bypasses Plasma’s theming system by displaying custom shapes/colors and since it is currently applied only for the panel it creates inconsistency with everything else in Plasma that will still use the Plasma Style/Colorscheme
c) it is a messy way to do things, a proper implementation would have to come from the panel itself and not for a widget
d) is mostly eye candy stuff that honestly not everyone needs, or should use without knowing what they are doing
@luisbocanegra I think it needs to be adapted to Plasma 6.4 as with it you can’t have floating applets ![]()
Some versions ago I added an option to do that in the Appearance tab, Force floating dialogs, now that Plasma has a preference for that It overrides it
Oh, didn’t notice that, that’s super Luis ![]()
I will add a check and disable that option for plasma 6.4 or older, and show it in the stock panel settings tab if it’s exposed to the scripting api

Hi,
Thanks a lot for the hard work, I found no .deb file to install your Software… (I had a dream, I make a wish)
Happy new year ![]()

I have now published most of my projects in the openSUSE build service with help of a contributor, if someone reading this is familiar with debian packaging and wants to co-maintain a package there feel free to contact me or send a request over at Show home:luisbocanegra / plasma-panel-colorizer - openSUSE Build Service
