In dual-pane mode in Dolphin, tabs switch both panes simultaneously.
I guess, this behavior fits someone’s workflow, but for me it’s pretty useless.
It would be great if Dolphin had a mode where each pane had its own tabs like in almost every other file manager (Krusader, Nemo, Thunar, etc).
Any chance?
It is an uncommon use-case that has a very simple workaround: Having multiple tabs with the configurations you want.
On the other it would be a very large change in Dolphin code base to accommodate this.
Unless someone is really motivated and has the time and energy to do it, this won’t happen.
As a Dolphin maintainer, I simply have more important things to do.
It’s insane it’s not yet in a program, it should be quite common considering many other managers have this by default.
I prefer it since I keep and switch within n folders on left and m on right in different variation, it’s more combinations. I wanna switch between, without having to adjust the directory of the second direction most of the time…
